El Panal creates spaces of communal coexistence from popular education for the advancement of integral health. El Panal promotes a holistic vision of health and provides tools to empower our wellbeing. Working in solidarity with the most vulnerable communities on our island. El Panal is a space of coexistence and education where a wide variety of activities take place. The beauty of this space is that it responds to issues that are lived in the community, we have acted from the honeycomb, conversations and meetings on shipping between the islands of the archipelago of Puerto Rico, displacement, gentrification, access to land and housing, gender violence, among others. We also have two regular spaces, Girasolas and Abejas Reinas.
The Girasolas meet monthly to share knowledge related to food security and health.
The Abejas Reinas summer program was established in 2022 with the purpose of providing a safe space and uplifting experiences for young Viequenses between the ages of twelve and sixteen. We want participants to have varied experiences that strengthen their self-esteem and develop leadership skills. We understand that our queen bees will be key in producing the necessary changes in our baby island.
We offer an intensive agricultural course for adults and youth. Please contact us for more information.
